The 4Runner
I've been driving Justin's 4Runner since he so kindly told me that my car was a piece of crap. He bought a little Toyota Truck and has been driving that around while I drive in the lane of luxury. Justin paints cars for a living, so he is very picky about what our vehicles look like. I have no longer been aloud to let my car look like I've been living in the back seat. The other night, Just asked me to switch him cars so that he could take the 4Runner to work and polish the headlights. When I stopped to see him at work the next day, I was a little startled to walk into the shop and see my beloved 4Runner, completely torn apart. Justin had found a few little (and I mean little) rock chips and wanted to fix them. He then decided to repaint the entire car. I love my little perfectionist boyfriend. More to come...
Summer School
I've been teaching summer school since the beginning of June. During the regular school year, I teach 5th grade, but for summer they asked me to teach 3rd. I have successfully learned patience in the last month! They are so much more dependent and so much smaller than 5th graders. They are also little fibbers! One little boy insisted that his dad was an astronaut and was pretty much believed until one day his mom came in. The 2nd grade teacher said to her, "That is so cool that your husband is an astronaut! We will have to have him come in and speak to us!" The mom looked at her like she was crazy. Miss Palmer then said, "Your son told us that his dad is an astronaut." The mom just started to laugh and finally said, "No. My husband is a truck driver." Well, truck driver--astronaut--pretty close, right? I will be pretty glad for July 2nd when I'm done and get to have a "teacher's summer", and absolutely thrilled when the next school year starts and I get a whole new class to torture. I love my job and feel really blessed that I have it. I laugh really hard every day and get paid to talk and have fun all day. It's pretty much the best job that 4 years of college can buy.
Look Mom! I'm a blogger!
So...the other day one of my besties told me she started a blog and that I should start one, too. I told her that my life was really not that blog-worthy; after all, most of the time I don't want to know what's going on in my life-- why would other people? Most people blog about their exciting travels or cute kids, neither of which I have. But, this is gonna be a pretty big year for me...so i figure what the heck. So as a disclaimer: my life might not be super exciting, but it's pretty darn good. So thanks, Kel. Here goes nothing.
